New Patients and Referrals
We welcome new patients with referrals from primary care providers or other health care professionals, whether local, from outside the greater Spokane area, or from out of state. New patients must have a provider-to-provider referral for treatment sent to Spokane Digestive or one of our gastroenterologists. Referrals may be faxed to (509) 838-5961. A referral request form can be printed from our website and is located under the patient forms section. A provider-to-provider referral is different from an insurance referral, the latter being an authorization for insurance payment. Before scheduling the initial appointment, we will need current medical records regarding the symptoms or diagnoses we are to treat, and previous medical and surgical history as well as any previous gastroenterology records. We will be glad to assist you with any medical record requests.
Appointments
Please bring the following to your appointment:
- Photo identification; and
- Insurance card(s); and
- A referral or PO if your insurance requires one; and
- List of current prescriptions and/or over-the-counter medications, including dose and frequency; and
- Co-payments and pre-payments to be applied to deductibles (see Insurance Billing below) will be collected upon check-in; and
- Forms detailing demographic information and patient health can be located under the patient forms section of our website, and printed and completed ahead of the appointment or at the time of check-in.
Cancellations and Re-Scheduling
In order to provide the most efficient scheduling to our patients, appointment cancellations and no-shows must be kept to a minimum. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. A $100 fee may be assessed on no-shows or cancellations within 72 hours of your procedure appointment.
Office Hours
We are open Monday through Friday from 6:45 am to 5:00 pm, and we have physicians on call after hours, on weekends, and on holidays. If you have an emergency, call 911. Our telephone number is (509) 838-5950.
Location and Parking
We are located at 105 West 8th Avenue in the West Tower of the Sacred Heart Doctors Building, Suite 6010. This building is at the Southeast corner of McClellan Street and 8th Avenue. There is a garage in the lower levels of our building, where parking is available for $2 to $3. Valet parking is also available next to the main entrance of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, across 8th Avenue from the Sacred Heart Doctors Building.
Insurance Billing
Spokane Digestive will bill your primary and secondary insurance.
Our staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and available to help you with all of your billing and insurance questions. It is your responsibility to verify that Spokane Digestive providers are covered by your insurance plan. We will verify insurance coverage and benefits for you. We will obtain prior authorizations when required. We will provide you with an estimate of your out of pocket costs for all procedures done in our Ambulatory Surgery Center.
If you have a large deductible, you will be asked to pre-pay a portion of your estimated out-of-pocket cost at the time of your procedure. If you do not have insurance coverage you will be asked to pre-pay $500 at the time of your endoscopic procedure. Co-payments are expected at the time of service.
For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, personal checks, and cash payments. Credit card payments can be made by phone by calling (509) 838-5950 and selecting option 5.
